Gewürztraminer
	Gewürztraminer grapes produces white wines with a strong floral aroma and a hint of a lychee nut flavour. It is often regarded similar in style to the Riesling. It is grown in many countries in the new world as in Europe. It does well in the cool coastal regions of the western USA, in Australian and in New Zealand. The origin of this vine is still controversial. Some says it comes from the Palatinato, from Alsazia or from Württemberg where it has been vinified since the 16th century.
Others link its name with the town of Termero (Tramin in German), a small town in the north of Italy. More probably though, the Gewürztraminer arrived in Termero coming from the northern regions. It prefers a cooler climate like the south Tirol or the north of Italy. The Italian production is restricted to only a small area in the Trentino region.
