Wine Making Kits - Müller-Thurgau Wine making kits from Hambleton Bard - most are made using Italian high quality grape concentrates. Our supplies of grapes come from the northern regions where the cooler climate produces high quality winemaking grapes of all the international types like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling etc as well as Italian specialities like Nebbiolo (used for the famous Barolo wines) and Sangiovese. |

The Müller-Thurgau did not even exist little over a hundred years ago. It was invented 1882 by Dr. Herman Müller from Thurgau in Austria as a cross between Sylvaner and Riesling. Later research using DNA has shown that it is more likely to be a cross between Riesling and Guteldel. Müller-Thurgau arrived in Italy in 1939 and quickly became popular because of its great yield and the ability to resist hard climate conditions like in the elevated soils of the Trentino region. |
