Wine Making Kits - DOCs

Wine making kits in the DOCs range contain 8 kg of varietal grape concentrate mix in order to produce a home made wine of commercial quality. Thanks to the high amount of raw material in this winekit, you don't need to add any sugar and it is also very simple to make although it takes some 4-6 weeks to produce a good quality home made wine from this kit.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The Cabernet Sauvignon grape produces a full bodied, complex red wine with high tannins and a deep ruby colour. Cabernet Sauvignon wine kits need storing for a few months for a really good result. You can drink it immediately when ready, but we suggest leaving on bottles for at least 2 months for optimum quality.

Cabernet/Merlot

Using Cabernet Sauvignon as the base, but softening its harsher tannins by mixing in a Merlot grape as well achieves a well balanced wine, dark ruby in colour but which does not require as long bottle storage as the pure Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merlot grape also adds some fruitiness.

Merlot

The generous bouquet, softer but yet complex tannins, hints of blackcurrant, plum and violet are properties which helped making Merlot the most popular red wine grape in the world. Our Merlot wine kit produces a commercial quality wine in only 4-6 weeks. Ready to drink immediately but will improve further with another month or two on bottle first.

Sangiovese

The Sangiovese grape comes from the Italian region of Tuscany. It is the most important component of all Chianti's and it is often used mixed with other grapes. For this wine kit, we have used only Sangiovese to achieve a very powerful Italian red Tuscany style.

Shiraz/Merlot

A favourite mix from the new world, the soft Merlot grape and the exciting Shiraz is a perfect balance between the old and the new.

Chardonnay

A fruity character with hints of citrus and the typical smokey flavour are the hallmarks of Chardonnay wines making them the worlds most popular whites today.

Pinot Grigio

Light to medium body, straw coloured wine with a floral nose and delicate hints of honeysuckle and ripe figs. Well balanced with crisp acidity.

Chablis Style

Dry white with a mineral character, soft and fruity aroma. Light straw coloured popular white wine.

Rose

A well balanced, crisp and fruity rose wine, elegant with light strawberry notes, the perfect all-rounder wine kit.

Making wine from kits have never been easier. Thanks to new types of yeast strains and improved nutrition and finings, our wine kits almost manage themselves. For a quality winekit such as DOCs, you will need to allow some 4-8 weeks for optimum quality but most of this time you can just sit back and watch the kit fermenting along and making itself.
