Use: Bittering. Mainly used in German lagers.

Herkules is mainly used for bittering, providing a soft bitterness, but it can also add flavours and aromas of pepper, herbs and melon when used for dry hopping or late kettle addiitions.

Hallertauer Hersbrucker

Beta acid: 4-6%

Co-humulone (% of alpha acids): 19-25%

Use: Dual purpose. German and Belgian lagers and ales.

Spicy German hop variety, the most common type used in German beers. Fruit and spice with a floral character.

Substitute: Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Mt. Hood

Use: Mainly bittering. German and Belgian lagers and ales.

Well suited for early kettle additions, overall very neutral so perfect as a base bittering hop. Soft and balanced bitterness.

Alpha acid: 13-14%

Use: Dual purpose. Perfect for German lagers, ales, pilseners and wheat beers.

Opal is a very German type of hop, with a high myrcene content providing spicy and citrusy notes.

Perle

Alpha acid: 7-9%

Beta acid: 3-5%

Use: Dual purpose. Mainly used in German and Belgian beers.

Perle has a green, fresh and spicy flavour and adds a fine, clean bitterness if added early in the kettle.

Spalter Select

Use: Dual purpose. Frequently used in German beers.

Select, or Spalter Select as it is also called, was developed to create a more powerful version of Spalt. Spicy German aroma.

Classic German hop type, very aromatic, which will generate a mild, spicy and flowery aroma.
